Dan first met Ashley in 2002 through his sister Stephanie. Stephanie and Ashley were college roommates at Leslie University. Because Ashley was from Florida, she would often go to Stephanie’s parent’s house for home-cooked meals and holidays. They had a beautiful house in quintessential Plymouth on the South Shore and Ashley would love to spend weekends there with Stephanie. Ashley did not know at the time that she would soon fall in love with this South shore community, the Sullivan Family, and Stephanie’s brother, Dan.

It wasn’t until summer 2007, while rooming again in Boston with Stephanie, that Ashley saw Dan in a different light. Ashley and Dan spent long hours driving to see each other from Plymouth to Boston and back. Feeling as if things were just perfect, Dan sprung a life changing decision on Ashley. In January 2008 Dan decided to enlist in the United States Army. Ashley was fearful, and her first instincts were adamantly against it. After much discussion and agreement Dan left for boot camp. Dan and Ashley corresponded through letters only and Ashley wrote Dan every day. After only three months in boot camp, Dan realized that he couldn’t have another minute away from Ashley and he asked her in a letter to marry him.

Being separated again was the worst feeling imaginable and extremely difficult. Ashley spent time dreaming of the beautiful wedding ceremony that they both longed for and deserved. A wedding where there would be a dress, a cake, and beautiful flowers.
Atlantica was the perfect location for their wedding with a beautiful water view and neutral color palette. Ashley chose bridesmaids dresses in Navy.

Ashley chose a dress that was a mix of modern and vintage style. The antique looking lace covered the bodice of the dress and Ashley’s dark hair was the perfect contrast to the soft tones of the dress.

Artistic Blossoms created an array of white bouquets for the bridesmaids and used Ashley’s favorite, baby’s breath in larger arrangements around the room.

Black river stones and moss embellished the centerpieces and gave the wedding a natural and organic look.

Tracy’s thoughts:
I love Ashley and Dan’s love story. When I reflect on how they met and how the beginning of their relationship was spent corresponding through letters while Dan was in the service it reminds me of an old fashioned classic love story.
It was obvious to me that Ashley was filled with emotion on her wedding day. Dan was so very sweet and attentive to Ashley that I instantly knew we would create amazing images together. When Dan and Ashley looked at each other I could see the love in their eyes.

This is one of my favorite images from their wedding day……
